			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You&#8217;ve  probably never heard of PKD until now. Don&#8217;t feel bad about  it — I had  never heard of it, either, until I was diagnosed with  Autosomal Dominant  Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) a few years ago.  ADPKD is the most  common type of PKD, and doesn&#8217;t begin to show  symptoms until the person  is in their 30s or 40s. But about 10% of  people with PKD have Autosomal  Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease  (ARPKD), a far more serious form of  the disease which affects the  individual from birth.</p>
